Adder
A common, and widespread group of venomous serpents found mainly in temperate regions, adders are cold -blooded and hibernate in the winter. They can be found as far north as sub -arctic regions. Average adult length is about 2 feet, although some species may be as small as 1 foot or as large as 3 feet. Usually only striking when cornered or threatened, adders may be a hazard to domesticated animals and livestock as well as adventurers. A successful Handle Poison check allows a thief to milk 1d5 doses of venom from an adder, living or dead.
