Summary

Init +5; Atk bite +3 melee (1 plus venom); AC 12; HD 1d6; MV 30’; Act 3d20; SP venom (1d3 Stamina plus Fort DC 16 or 1d3 additional Stamina each hour until death); SV Fort +3; Ref +7; Will +3; AL N. A large and aggressive serpent noted for its ability to strike multiple times in a single round, as well as its potent venom, the black mamba is found in tropical scrubland and can grow to almost 10 feet long. A thief can milk 1d6 doses of venom from a black mamba, living or dead, with a successful Handle Poison check, but managing so large and cantankerous a reptile is fraught with peril: each handler (up to three assisting the thief) and the thief must make a Luck check. If no one succeeds, the serpent gets loose before it can be milked. If the thief fails, but there is even one success, the serpent has an opportunity to make one attempted strike at -1d before it can be milked.
