These giant monitor lizards can grow over 10 feet long, and weigh as much as 366 pounds. Adult males are typically 7½ feet long, weighing 1d24+150 pounds, and females 6½ feet long at 1d10+150 pounds. Komodo dragon saliva may contain septic bacteria or the bite itself may be venomous. Sages dispute the actual cause, but the result is the same – victims must succeed in a DC 16 Fort save, or take 1d3 points of Agility damage, with an additional 1d3 points each hour until a successful save is made. Komodo dragons prefer to attack prey by ambush, but will follow wounded prey until they succumb to the dragon’s venom or recover.
