These large, pig-like animals are found in Central America, South America and parts of Southeast Asia in our world. They are herbivores, with flexible snouts allowing them to stay underwater for hours at a time to avoid predators. Just the tip of the snout remains above water to allow the animal to breath. On average, tapirs are just over 3 feet high and the shoulder and 6½ feet long, with an average weight of 7d50+320 pounds.
